Busy, busy, busy at new Romsey Co-op

The new Romsey Community Co-Op was officially opened on Saturday.
An initiative of the Romsey Neighbourhood House, the strategically placed co-op shop serves multiple purposes, and is run entirely by volunteers.
The exciting project has already received considerable support, and months of work and planning culminated in Saturday’s opening.
Neighbourhood house coordinator and co-op manager Michelle Balthazar is pleased that so many people who produce craftworks and other items now have an outlet; a commercial kitchen and community food share program is part of the ongoing plans, as well as a ‘clothe it forward’ initiative.
The shop is open from 9.30am to 5.30pm, with profits going back into helping the community’s needs.
Macedon Ranges east ward councillor Bill West was invited to open the community co-op and congratulated the organisers on their initiative, conveying best wishes from mayor Jennifer Anderson and fellow ward representatives Annette Death and Geoff Neil.
He said it was pleasing to see the co-op shop finally up and running, and the new Romsey men’s shed expecting to be open early in the new year.
