Gisborne SES wants you

Gisborne SES is calling for daytime responders to keep up with demand across the region.
Gisborne SES deputy controller of operations Di Dale said the unit was seeking to grow its member base to improve responses and would host a recruitment evening next week.
“We are targeting people from all walks of life in around the Macedon Ranges, especially people available during daytime hours, people who may hold a current truck licence and people interested in serving their community in a volunteer capacity,” Ms Dale said.
“Our SES volunteers continue to provide a volunteer service to the communities of the Macedon Ranges and those that pass through its boundaries, and we inspire anyone to join our crews.”
Ms Dale said the unit had 35 active members with diverse backgrounds and that there were many pathways for people to share and enhance their skills.
Gisborne SES encourages interested members of the community to attend its information evening on Monday August 13 at the 33 Robertson Street base (next to the fire station) at 7.30pm.
