Golfers take up the challenge

Castlemaine Golf Club member Harvey Zepnick is forming a team to support the Cancer Council’s Longest Day fundraiser.
Zepnick and his teammates, Marty Beck, Simon Duff and David Gaffney, will challenge themselves to play 72 holes at the Longest Day event at Castlemaine Golf Club on Sunday December 13.
The event presents the ultimate golfing challenge to complete four rounds of golf in one day.
“We’ll be testing our skill, strength and stamina to raise funds for Cancer Council,” Zepnick said.
“We are playing in honour of a friend lost to cancer last year, Ian MacDonald.
“Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, with two in three Australians diagnosed with skin cancer by the age of 70.
“We want to help change this. Please sponsor our team to make every hole count! Together, let’s tee off for a cancer free future.”
Zepnick and his team have already smashed their original goal of $1000 with their funds raised sitting at $1112.
