Kyneton foodies unite to celebrate RM Begg aged care

Kyneton producers are coming together to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the town’s oldest and best-loved not-for-profit aged care facility RM Begg.
At the famed St Agnes Homestead guests of the fundraising event will be able to enjoy finger food, local wine, music and the opportunity to bid on some unique auction items. Last year the event raised $14,000 and organisers aim to top that figure this year.
Piper Street Food Co’s Damien and Bryanna Sandercock said they were pleased to be supporting the event, for the third time, alongside several other establishments donating their time, talent and goods.
“It’s very rare that we can all get together to show our support in this way,” Bryanna said.
Among those local ‘foodies’ supporting the fundraiser are Monsieur Pierre, Colenso, The Caterers, Little Swallow, Banks Fine Wine, The Royal George, Super Sushi, Animus Distillery, volunteers from Kyneton Community Lunches, numerous local wineries and producers/suppliers including Hardwicks and Watts Fresh.
The Caterers of Kyneton’s Catherine Christmass said it was exciting to join forces with some remarkable other local food and wine establishments to present an event to remember that raises money for an extremely worthy cause.
“The sense of community within Kyneton is strong and it is nights like this that serve to strengthen that bond while looking after our senior citizens who have paved the way,” she said.
Numerous local artists will also support the initiative including Flynns, David Emery, John Lloyd, Huntly Barton and Jenny Phillips.
The fundraiser will be held at the St Agnes Homestead at 30 Burton Avenue, Kyneton, on Thursday, November 28, from 6pm to 9.30pm.
