Radio to rock the Royal

Castlemaine’s not-for-profit radio station MAINfm kicked off its week-long ‘2020 Radiothon’ fundraiser on Saturday evening with an epic PubSing Castlemaine online sing-a-long to this year’s theme ‘Here Comes the Sun’, live from The Taproom at Shedshaker Brewing.
The radiothon continues this week and will culminate with another massive virtual live music event – the Big Night Out – In: MAINfm Radiothon Wrap Gig Party – from Castlemaine’s very own Theatre Royal this Saturday evening from 5pm featuring local bands, presenters and DJs.
It will mark the first live gig at the Royal since it reopened its doors following the COVID crisis.
Throughout the week MAINfm will be giving away double passes to the ‘Big Night Out – In’ to its subscribers.
Meanwhile the wider community is urged to get frocked up, gather their friends and family, get their house party pumping and tune to the gig via MAINfm 94.9 or catch the livestream at mainfm.net
Bands to feature will include local soft rock group Blue Lucas, Jess Parker and the Troubled Waters with their mix of rock and rockabilly, and psychedelic rock group Aplegate, plus MAINfm DJ Shot Betty.
MAINfm presenter Bradley Dawson is hosting the evening and said it should be a great night of local live music.
“Once the gig itself winds up we will be going back to the studio to present a couple more hours of tunes for our party goers,” he said.
If you’re a MAINfm listener, it’s your time to shine jump online and subscribe to support the radio station provide its wide array of community driven programs for another 12 months.
