Tigers kick off year with upgrade

Kyneton Football Netball Club will kick start the year with a $13,636 upgrade to its pavilion kitchen.
Federal Member for Bendigo Lisa Chesters announced a Stronger Communities grant for the refurbishment at the Kyneton Showgrounds last week.
“The refurbishment will not only benefit KFNC in terms of revenue and service to members and the public, but will also be a considerable benefit to all Kyneton Showground users, their members, and the general public supporting their events,” Ms Chesters said.
“KFNC does a great job in creating a sense of belonging and social inclusion, and building a stronger local community. They’re an extremely worthy recipient.”
The funds will support upgrade of cabinetry, sink and tapware, the purchase of a deep fryer, and waterproofed flooring.
KFNC president Karen O’Sullivan said a new canteen would “put smiles on the faces of many volunteers and canteen coordinators”.
“An upgraded kitchen will be a much welcome addition to the KFNC social clubrooms, one that can be used widely by other community groups as well to help us all maximise our fundraising opportunities,” she said.
The project is expected to improve local community participation and cohesion.
The club aims to have the refurbishment completed by the first round in April 13 when the Tigers take on Golden Square.
